(ولو كنت فظا غليظ القلب لانفصوا من حولك) أذا كانت النبوة لم تثمر الا بحسن الخلق فكيف بما دونها؟ فعجبا لأقوام كأنما يعبدون الله بالفظاظة والبذاءة وكأنما يرون سلاطة اللسان وفحش العبارة من الشجاعة وقوة الرأي. على رسلكم ياقوم فإنما أسقطتم أنفسكم وأهنتم فكركم وشوهتم علمكم. ومن قرأ التاريخ رأى أن القبول كتب لأهل الأخلاق والأدب من العلماء لا لأهل الحجة والفكر من السفهاء
